The new International Student Program which came into effect on June 1, 2014 was designed to reduce the potential for fraud or misuse of the program while protecting Canada’s international reputation for high-quality education and improving services to genuine students. These new rules limit the issuance of study permits to applicants who plan to study at a designated learning institution and they allow full-time international students enrolled at designated institutions in certain programs to work part time off campus and full time during scheduled school breaks without a work permit.

As part of the process of qualifying for designation, the duration of our training program has been expanded and now requires 7 months of study. This means that everyone who wants to study at TLC Edmonton must apply for and be approved a student visa. No one will be able to participate in our training program on a tourist visa.
