Trying to bring Zimbabwean live in caregiver via South Africa

0 votes
Hello, I am in the process of trying to bring a young Zimbabwean lady who is currently working as a nanny with a work permit in South Africa.  She has excellent references from her current family, has been with them 2year and 9 months.  She speaks and writes english very well.  She comepleted her O Levels in highschool in Zimbabwe and received her GCE (general certificate of education).  All of the research Ive done points in the direction that this GCE is eqivalent to a Canadian high school education...even surpassing it actually.  All of the colleges in Canada that Ive researched would even accept it as an entrance requirement without needing upgrading. How can I find out for sure if her GCE is actually equivalent to our diploma?  I would hate for both of us to waste our time.  Looking forward to a response.  Take care. :)

There is an official government body in every province that assesses qualifications obtained abroad to determine their equivalency in Canada.  Going through this process is the only way to be sure in advance. However, if you are fairly sure she has the equivalence of a high school education in Canada, then why not just apply for a work permit. Then it will be the decision of the Immigration Officer processing her case.
