Dear Moderator,

Could you please answer the question - "What means - "the equivalent of Canadian high school education" and is it necessary to present it, if I have University diploma?".

I'm originally from Ukraine, and intending to come to USA for 1 year as au-pair, after what I'd like to participate in Live-In-Caregiver program. I wonder if it would be possible to apply for Canadian visa from USA (without returning back to Ukraine)?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

In Canada, we have 12 years of public education plus kindergarten. 5 year old children go to kindergarten. From ages 6 to 11, they go to elementary school (Grades 1 to 6). Then they start Junior High school (ages from 12 to 14) Grades 7, 8 & 9. Finally there is high school, grades 10, 11, & 12. Adolescents usually finish high school at 17 or 18 years of age depending on when their birthday is. So the equivalent of a Canadian high school education means 12 or 13 years of schooling and the completion of high school.
