Many people are sending me emails saying they want to study at my school and want to know how to proceed. By writing a general answer here I hope to be able to answer some of the basic questions. And please feel free to post further questions here and I will do my best to answer them too.
If you wish to train at my school which is located in Canada, you must be able to obtain a visa to either visit or study in Canada. The process for arranging such a visa varies greatly from country to country and can either be quite easy or very difficult. As my area of expertise is in running a training school, I am not qualified to advise you very extensively about making visa applications. You can read all about applying for a student visa to study in Canada on the Canadian Immigration website. Here is the link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study.asp
If after looking this information over you decide to go ahead and apply for a student visa, you will need a Letter of Acceptance to the school. If you meet the qualifications (have a Grade 12 education and read, speak, and write English at least at an intermediate level), I will provide you with a Letter of Acceptance to my school once I receive your registration fee of $100.
It is important that you realize that, in many cases, the Canadian Embassy or Consulate will not issue a student visa until the tuition fees have been paid in full because there have been many instances in the past of students using their student visa to come to Canada where they then disappear and never actually go to the school for whom the visa was granted. To prevent this practice, the government now usually requires proof that the full tuition has been paid. Because students understandably may not be willing to pay their tuition fee in advance, many of them work with an agency that will hold the tuition for the school until the visa application decision has been made by the Embassy. However, I do not yet have agents set up in many countries.
If you are able to obtain a visitor’s visa to come to Canada, you do not need to apply for a student visa and you do not have to pay anything in advance. Foreign students are allowed to study for up to six months in Canada on a visitor’s visa.
I would advise you to get further information about the process of applying for a visitor or student visa in your country.
As is mentioned on my web page, the tuition fee for my six month training course is $5,000 Canadian plus a $100 registration fee.
I encourage you to use this Discussion Board to ask further questions. If you are wondering about something, probably others are too.
Shirley

I am currently staying with relatives in Calgary and I have a work permit as companion which but is expiring on Nov. 19 of this month. I have an LMO for a live-in caregiver but work permit was not granted for lack of certificate and insufficient training in the child care area. I would like to enter your course but the fee and other expenses is a bit heavy if paid at once especially because I have to stay in Edmonton for the course whereas in Calgary I need not add the accomodation expense. If my family can guarantee that the course will be taken and the fee will be eventually paid in full will you give me a letter of acceptance so that I can take the course as soon as possible? I need to get the student visa as soon as possible or I will have to go home first which will increase expenses and may make it impossible to move on. Please answer as soon as possible. Thank you and God bless you! Carmelita
