1. I obtain 72 units equevalent to canadian grade 12 education and I have been working in hongkong for 6 months ( taking care of children). I have no live-in caregiver training whatsoever. Is 6 months experience alone is enough to meet live-in care eligibility or I need more years?
2. My Aunt was refused in her speaktest last year at the Canadian embassy in manila and she is now residing in dubai working as a domistic helper . My question is...Now that she gained 6 months experience, can she re-apply again if her former sponsor will re-process the papers or she needs to make her working experience a year to have herself eligible again? Enligthen me. Thanks!
Dear moderator, Can I apply under live-in caregiver program?

6 months experience is not sufficient to qualify you for a work permit under the live-in caregiver program. It does not meet the requirements.
You haven't given me enough information about your aunt for me to respond. The qualification requirements are quite clear. You must have a minimum six months full-time, classroom based, related training at a recognized training school or a minimum of one year full-time paid related work experience within the past 3 years. (There are other rules controlling the work experience...read the government description of them on Immigration Canada's website at www.cic.gc.ca ) The rules are strictly enforced. If you are wondering if it is good enough, it likely isn't. |
