hi i just want to know how long does it take to renew work permit for the same employer coz i sent my application on 9 January 2009 until now i haven't got it yet because when i read from immigration website says 62 days?

The processing times vary from month to month and the best place to look for that information is on the Immigration Canada website where is gives the current processing time. It looks like you are familiar with that resource and I don't know any more than it does.

Hi. This is not a reply but another question for this topic. My situation is the same like Zinhle - same employer and extending my work permit for another year.

I applied my renewal for work permit last November 2009 but as of now have not yet receive it. My work permit will expire on February 23, 2010 - only 2 weeks from now.

Im quite worried with this and just want to know any suggestions or sites on how to know the status of my application .

If, by any chance, my work permit expires and my renewal does not come on time; am I still allowed to stay and continue my work? I am staying with my present employer.

I can not answer questions about processing times for visa applications or work permit renewals because such matters are in the hands of Immigration Canada officials. Also, there are many variables so the times will vary considerably at different offices and different times of the year.
