Hello. I am a 24 year old caregiver from Romania with 6 years experience - including almost 2 years for an American man living here in Romania with his 5 year old son. My English is very good and also I speak Italian and a little French and Spanish. However, I think it is important for me to get certification before I start to find a job in Canada.

Is it possible for someone from Romania to get a visa approved to attend your school? I was hoping to get some type of visa to attend and then expect to have to return to Romania while I try to find a job in Canda. I have already saved the money required for tuition and accomodations (I hope).

If it is possible to get a visa to attend your school, how long does the process usually take and on what month do your new classes begin?

I have heard contradictory information that says that it is harder to get visa to go to school than to get visa to work as a live-in caregiver. But I think to get formal training is best idea for me. What do you think?

Hi! Sorry for the delay in responding to your post. There was a problem with my webpage which I didn't notice so I was not receiving my notices. It is all fixed now.
I will be happy to email with you privately about the specifics of your situation if you like, but I will post a general response here.
I think some training in Canada specific to the job of caregiver is always a good idea if you want to work as a caregiver here (but, of course, it is my business so I am biased!). However, having six months to get acclimatised to Canada, ample opportunity to find your own job while you are here, not to mention all the Canada specific information I will teach you (commonly accepted discipline methods, Canadian culture including cooking, etc., etc. etc.) all contribute to ensuring that you go into your job well prepared and confident.
You can start on the first weekday of any month as I teach a series of rotating modules. So you can join in anywhere and finish them all.
It may sometimes be harder to get a visa to study than it is to get a visa to work as a caregiver. That is because when you are applying for a job as a caregiver all the paperwork is fairly straightforward and visa officers know exactly what you intend to do. When applying for a student visa, sometimes they are concerned that the applicant will not do what they say they are going to do. At least that is how I have figured it out...I could be wrong.
Another factor to consider is that work permit applications are often refused for people who haven't received formal training even through they have met the work experience part of the equation. So I don't believe it is ever possible to say for sure which is the best approach.
I have looked at the visa requirements for people from Romania and it doesn't look all that difficult to get a visitor's visa. It is legal to study for up to six months on a visitor's visa. So I think it is worth a try. Please email me directly if you would like to talk about this in more detail.
Good luck
Shirley
