Telephone calls and messages left for me

If you want to contact me for any reason, please email me. I have lost patience with being called at all hours of the night. Several of my students and I sleep in the same house as the office phone is located in and although I refuse to answer the phone at night anymore, the telephone ringing wakes everyone up. I always answer emails if they are at all reasonable and I almost always delete requests for a call back left on my telephone. I am not willing to struggle with disorganized and unclear telephone messages that I have to play 5 times to decipher. Even when the message is decipherable sometimes it accidentally gets deleted even when I would have liked to have responded to it. This happened again tonight when I was trying to replay a message sent by a man from Pakistan. The telephone number was very difficult to get and as I played it over and over, I accidentally deleted it. Then there was no way to retrieve the number. Please send me an email! This is the 21st Century!

Re: Another CAUTION TO ALL CAREGIVERS

I do not understand your first sentence at all. My warning was directed to people who post on my notice board and who then receive so called "job offers" from people who are not legitimate employers When people post their availability on this (or any other) notice board...by making it possible for legitimate employers to contact them, they also make it possible for illegitimate employers to contact them. As always in life, you are responsible for yourself and if you choose to believe something that seems too good to be true, or if you overlook obvious warning signs because you really want something to be true even though, if you paid attention, you would know it didn't feel right, then you can't blame anyone else if you get into trouble. There are no guarantees in this situation.

However, that has nothing to do with the fact that this is a legitimate school. I tell the truth to the extent that I know it and I do not scam anyone. However, you still need to do your due diligence. You can not believe that just because I say it.

In response to the rest of your statement...I have no control over immigration decisions. I issue Letters of Acceptance to people who qualify for the training and who pay the registration fee. Whether or not they get their visa application's approved is something I have no control over at all. I warn those who, through my experience I believe will be denied, that they are likely just wasting their money. If they want to go ahead and try anyway, that is their choice.

And having a diploma in civil engineering in no way convinces me that someone will make a good caregiver. It does not demonstrate an interest in caring for others. For me, that is simply a sign that someone is trying to use the Live-in Caregiver Program for their own purposes. It is not enough to want to be in Canada. To be a good caregiver you must care about others and you must be willing to serve. For many (men in particular) this concept is a shock.

Finally, as I have already mentioned elsewhere, in my experience a man from Nigeria (and from several other countries where there is a lot of pressure on the Canadian Consulates for visas) has almost no chance of being approved a visa permitting him to come to Canada to study caregiving.

How then can we will be garantee to pay to your right administration. Secondly I have some body in Nigeria who has OND Diploma in Civil engineering who wish to go into live in caregiver career in CANADA. He can pay all the finiancial involvement of this programm if he can be sure of the success of the visa application as most time your embassy turn down people. Do your institution have any role in ensuring the success of the visa application of your legitimate accepted candidates and in what way will the institution play their role. When do this programm start in the year and How long do you think it will take for the visa processing after the fees have been paid to your administration. Please this guy is being sponsored by his senior brother, is there any negative effect, this will have in his status in regards to the visa application. God bless you. Anthony.

If your work experience was gained within the past three years, and if your work was with the same employer, and if you are able to prove it irrevocably with official government documents, and if you can find a Canadian employer willing to hire you to do a similar job, Immigration Officials may agree to give you a work permit based on experience. However, you can be sure they will follow the rules very closely and if you don't exactly meet the requirements, they will refuse your application.
